About Lovage Herb
Lovage looks kind of like celery however it is part of the carrot family. The plant can grow up to 6 feet tall and bears thick green foliage. The flowers are yellow and held in umbrella-shaped umbels. The plant will spread up to 32 inches in width.
Lovage plants are hardy to Zone 4. Be sure to plant in well-drained soil and make sure it receives lots of sun.
Seeds can be sown outdoors once the soil temperatures have reached 60° F.
Harvest Lovage leaves at any time and dig out the root in autumn. Stems are best when eaten young. A great companion for potatoes and other tubers and root crops.
